Director

Mrs. Linda Meehan continues her 20th year at Playmates Learning Center. Her two goals this year are to encourage each child at Playmates to become an "independent thinker" and to build a strong relationship between the parents and the school. Mrs. Meehan has four children: Dennis, Tom, Mitchell and Lily and two wonderful grandsons, Michael and Miles. She resides with her husband "Mr. Ed" at Playmates. Mrs. Meehan has a Bachelor's degree in Science and Masters degrees in Social Work and Education. Mrs. Meehan was the 2001 recipient of the Champion for Children award provided by the New Hampshire School Administrators Association. In 2003, she received the Sandown Citizen of the Year Award and in 2004 received the Brenda Abbott Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award through the New Hampshire Partners in Education.

Business Manager

Mitchell Mencis has been our soccer director for the past five years. In 2006, Mitchell graduated cum Laude from Northeastern University with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Mitchell will be using his knowledge of business practices to improve the business end of Playmates Learning Center. He has started his own business called Sandlot Sports & Entertainment to continue and expand sports programs for children in the Sandown area right here behind Playmates Learning Center. This year he initiated a "Coach Mitch" program that provides the children with gymnastics during their time in preschool and Kindergarten. Mitchell also coaches in the Timberlane Regional Middle School soccer program.

Kindergarten Teacher

Mrs. Sandy Dooley, Assistant Director and Kindergarten Teacher continues in her 15th year at Playmates Learning Center. Mrs. Dooley enjoys watching the children progress from preschool to Kindergarten and continues to watch them grow in elementary school. Mrs. Dooley has two children: Christopher and Abigail who have both graduated from college. She commutes from Groveland where she resides with her husband, Bob. Mrs. Dooley has a Bachelor's degree in Education.

Preschool Teacher

Ms. Colette Dubois, Preschool Teacher, will be teaching her sixth year of preschool at Playmates Learning Center. Ms. Dubois has been working in the Early Childhood field for over 12 years.  She graduated cum laude with her Associates Degree from the Castle College in Early Childhood Education.  She has previously provided workshops for other child care centers in New Hampshire and continues to share lots of new ideas with our Playmates staff. This summer, Ms. Dubois will be assisting in our acquatics program teaching young children to learn how to swim and improve their strokes.  Ms. Dubois has two wonderful sons, Raymond and Zachary who enjoy having her teach them as well.

Mrs. Amy Farone assists Ms. Dubois in the preschool classroom.                                                                

Daycare Teacher

Ms. Courtney Strobino is one of our two daycare teachers.  Ms. Strobino has a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology. She graduated from Plymouth State University in 2008.  Ms. Strobino  taught Preschool, Gymnastics and Summer Camp in Connecticut.   Her hobbies include reading, snowboarding, travelling and all kinds of sports.  Ms. Strobino lives in Nashua, NH and commutes to Playmates so that she     can enjoy working with our daycare children.

Daycare Teacher

Ms. Jessica Wein is another wonderful daycare teacher.   Ms. Wein has been working in child care for five years. She is currently working towards her Associates and Bachelor's degrees in Early Childhood Education.  Ms. Wein loves working with children and the new challenges that they face each day.  She enjoys all the different personalities of the children and helping them fulfill their need to learn and grow.  

Ms. Wein lives in Hampstead with her daughter, Korrin, who is five years old.  Her hobbies include cooking, spending time with her family and writing.

Afterschool Teacher

Mr. Andrew McClure has joined the Playmates team.   "Coach Andy" is currently working as an Assistant Teacher at Seacoast Charter School in Kingston, NH.  Coach Andy is a graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina where he majored in Recreation Management and Outdoor Experiential Education.  He loves cycling, climbing, hiking, playing the guitar, playing Ultimate Frisbee and corny jokes.  

Andrew lives in Dover, New Hampshire and enjoys the commute to Sandown on Monday through Friday.
