Playmates Learning Center Staff

Director

Mrs. Linda Meehan continues her 21st year at Playmates Learning Center. Her two goals this year are to encourage each child at Playmates to become an "independent thinker" and to build a strong relationship between the parents and the school. Mrs. Meehan has four children: Dennis, Tom, Mitchell and Lily and two wonderful grandsons, Michael and Miles. She resides with her husband "Mr. Ed" at Playmates. Mrs. Meehan has a Bachelor's degree in Science and Masters degrees in Social Work and Education. Mrs. Meehan was the 2001 recipient of the Champion for Children award provided by the New Hampshire School Administrators Association. In 2003, she received the Sandown Citizen of the Year Award and in 2004 received the Brenda Abbott Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award through the New Hampshire Partners in Education.

Director, Sandlot Sports & Entertainment

Mitchell Mencis has been our Sports Director for the past eight years. In 2006, Mitchell graduated cum Laude from Northeastern University with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.  His love of sports encouraged him to started his own business called Sandlot Sports & Entertainment which provides summer programs for children in the Sandown area right here behind Playmates Learning Center on our own football/soccer field, baseball/softball field and private pond.  During the school year, Coach Mitch becomes Mr. Mencis, a sixth grade Mathematics Teacher at Timberlane Regional Middle School where he also coaches baseball.  He coaches soccer for Timberlane Regional High School.

Kindergarten Teacher

Mrs. Sandy Dooley, Assistant Director and Kindergarten Teacher continues in her 17th year at Playmates Learning Center. Mrs. Dooley enjoys watching the children progress from preschool to Kindergarten and continues to watch them grow in elementary school. Mrs. Dooley has two children: Christopher and Abigail who have both graduated from college. She commutes from Groveland where she resides with her husband, Bob. Mrs. Dooley has a Bachelor's degree in Education.

Preschool Teacher

Ms. Elizabeth Cregg, Preschool Teacher, has been employed at Playmates Learning Center since she was in High School and has served in many different capacities - After School Teacher, Daycare Teacher, Swim Instructor and now our Preschool Teacher.  She continues to love working with children and providing them with a solid base to start their education. Ms. Cregg has a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Studies from Plymouth State College.   She lives in Sandown with her husband, Jimmy Vadeboncoeur and their daughter, Avery. 

Assistant Preschool Teacher

Mrs. Jessica Hawkins assists Ms. Cregg in the preschool classroom.  Mrs. Hawkins has just completed her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education at Hesser College.  She enjoys learning and working with children and being creative in the classroom.  Mrs. Hawkins has three children of her own and several grandchildren.
